304 stainless steel dishwashing basin (also known as sink) has become a common practical appliance in the kitchen due to its material advantages, and its characteristics are mainly reflected in the material performance, practicality, safety and durability, etc., as follows:
First, the material performance is excellent
Corrosion and rust resistant
304 stainless steel contains 18% chromium and 8% nickel ("18-8" standard), chromium elements form a dense oxide film (passivation film) on the surface, which can resist the erosion of water, oil, detergents (containing acid and alkali ingredients) and daily food juices (such as soy sauce, vinegar, fruit juice), and is not easy to rust or spots after long-term use, especially suitable for humid kitchen environments.
Compared to 201 stainless steel, 201 has a low nickel content (about 1%-3%), weak corrosion resistance, and is prone to rust after long-term exposure to moisture or salt, while 304 remains stable even in coastal areas with high humidity.
High temperature resistance and temperature difference resistance
304 stainless steel has a melting point of about 1400°C, and can directly withstand the high temperatures of hot water (such as 80-100°C dishwashing water) and hot pans (short periods of time), and will not crack, deform or discolor due to sudden temperature changes (such as cold water rinsing the area in contact with the hot pan).
High strength and impact resistance
The hardness of the material is moderate (Brinell hardness is about 160HB), and even if it is bumped and rubbed by tableware (such as spatulas and dishes) in daily use, it is not easy to appear dents and scratches (high-quality 304 sinks are usually treated with brushed, frosted and other surface treatments, and slight scratches are not obvious and do not affect the appearance).
2. Strong practicability and easy to clean
The surface is smooth and not easy to hide
The surface of the high-quality 304 stainless steel dishwashing basin has been finely treated (such as brushed, pearl sand, mirror), the texture is uniform and delicate, and the oil stains and food residues are not easy to adhere.
For example, the surface of the brushed process has a fine texture that hides scratches and reduces water residue (easier to care for than mirrors).
Adapt to a variety of kitchen scenarios
Various forms: there are single sinks, double sinks, undercounter basins, countertop basins and other designs, which can be selected according to the size of the kitchen space and usage habits (such as double sinks can be partitioned for washing dishes and vegetables, and single slots are suitable for small apartments).
Strong compatibility: It can be used with faucets, soap dispensers, garbage disposers and other accessories, and the installation method is flexible (the undercounter basin is easy to clean the dead corner of the countertop, and the overtop basin is easy to install).
Smooth drainage and anti-clogging
High-quality products are typically designed with a sloping bottom, a deepened trough (mostly 20-25cm deep) and a large diameter drain (≥110mm diameter), with an anti-odor trap and strainer to drain water quickly and prevent food debris from clogging the pipes.
3. Safety and environmental protection, no health hazards
Food grade contact safe
304 stainless steel is a food-grade material, in line with the national GB 4806.9-2016 standard, can be in direct contact with food ingredients (such as washing vegetables, fruits), will not release heavy metals (such as lead, cadmium) or harmful substances, especially suitable for families who pay attention to food hygiene.
Note: Some low-priced "304" may be "non-standard 304" (insufficient nickel content), please look for the "304" mark on the product or test report (such as SGS certification).
No odor and no bacteria breeding
Stainless steel itself is non-porous, less likely to absorb odors, and the smooth surface reduces the breeding environment for bacteria, making it easier to keep clean and hygienic than ceramic or plastic sinks, reducing kitchen odor problems.
